Buy your own router, it will pay for itself pretty fast.

I was thinking of that.. Arris/Motorolas at best buy, as long as xfinity allows it. need to look at list available.

You might want to try a digital antenna. It will probably get you local channels.

I have the Blast promo for 49.99 a month. It's priced at 39.99, but we rent the modem. I always suggest using the comcastcares twitter account. They always find the best deals and worked with me to get this.

I have Comcast and I have a double-play package, so internet and cable. Every time I try to cancel the cable and only pay for internet, I find out that I'd have to pay $20 (? don't remember) more to keep the same internet speed. So I end up keeping my package because the bundle really is cheaper. We never turn on the cable box, maybe once ever 3 months?

I just continued my Internet Plus 25 Choice package for $50 until Jan. 2018. I'm happy. It is originally $68.

https://www.antennaweb.org/

Plug your address in, it will show what TV station you can get, and where to aim the antenna, It also gives suggestion for the best one for the distance needed.

Yes I live close to broadcast stations. There is a channel master $10 free shipping that gives me over 60 channels.

For me a boost or whatever would not only not be needed, it said it would distort my signal. So I got a plain one no amplifier.
