Those who do not learn to be somewhat frugal when young (at least living within one's means, value conscious and a regular saver), ... are unlikely to become "secretly loaded-secret millionaires" later on.
With exceptions such as famous athletes and movie stars, etc., most people who do well for themselves tend to have more stable relationships. Divorces are minimal or something that happens as a one time mistake when they are young. There are very few illegitimate children and baby mamas and baby daddies. Education and jobs or gaining wealth is in place before making babies and usually there is a spouse.
^^Yes, this. I notice this often is not mentioned in a lot of personal finance blogs and in the mainstream media. The mainstream media is too PC to mention it. The personal finance blogs just seem to assume everyone already knows this; but lots of people don't. 40% of children in America are born outside of marriage.
It's no secret that I have a sizable net worth. It also no secret that I have and enjoy the finer things in life. However, I'm still rather frugal. If a person is wealthy, their level of spending can be and will be elevated. However, it doesn't mean we have to live as if poor to be frugal. I think one of the hardest concept for many to grasp is that you can spend money yet still be frugal. Too much emphasis is placed on the amount being spent as a sign of being frugal; that's just a sign of how cheap one went. Without context of what that person can spend, a person with little money isn't being frugal because they spend a low amount, they are just poor and don't have anymore to spend.
