I buy kitchen stuff like plastic measuring spoons and hot pads. Also I love their coasters that have cork on the bottom and the top is a stone-like material that really does absorb moisture from my glass.

Food service gloves -- the thin flimsy ones. They are great for handling raw chicken which I hate getting under my nails. I also use two layers under my garden gloves to keep my fingernails clean.

Greeting cards, wrapping paper, gift bags, etc.

Office supplies. I can get 3 pens for a dollar. I have no idea how long they last because I usually lose my pens anyway before the ink runs out.

I just bought some LA Colors nail polish there that is staying on just as well as the name brand. The cotton balls and swabs are a great deal as is the polish remover.

Hair ties and clips.

They used to have great cookies but their selection has gone way downhill. Recently the local one moved their cookie aisle and shrunk it to about 1/3 the size. I do buy movie candy there on the rare occasion I indulge. Oh, our stores here have a day old bread rack. A dollar for a loaf is a great buy. That's it for food. I don't trust the rest.

Another food tip:

I noticed that the Dollar Tree near me in Germantown carries (or carried when last I visited it week before last) small 5-ounce bottles of two popular condiment sauces Kraft Heinz makes, Heinz 57 Sauce and Original A.1. Sauce.

Buy two of these and you have a regular 10-ounce bottle - and you've spent about 45 percent of what you'd spend buying the 10-ounce bottles at your local supermarket.

Just bought some nail file boards that are terrible. They only last for one filing session. Not worth it.

I have bought some that were decent but haven't seen those in a while. These were the ones with yellow and red flowers.

You make a good point. Off-price places like Dollar Tree and Big Lots often give you small sies of name prices at a pretty good price. For example, the Heinz Worcestershire in the small bottles is over a tw year supply.

The 10 load size of Tide detergent for $1 is great to have when you are on a trip.

Stax potato chips. Made by Lays. I like them because they are in a canister, so it protects them from getting crushed.

Put a little bit of water in the container, and close the lid. They will un-dry out on you.
