Going to an outdoor concert or other event where you cannot bring in a cooler or anything else. The temp is over 100 degrees and the cheapest drink is bottled water at $8 for a tiny bottle
I learned a lesson here. I always take a large 2 liter cold bottle of sealed water and when the say no, I say I'm diabetic and must have it for health reasons. I haven't been refused in well over 10 years
And it doesn't have to be by dollar amount, but maybe value ratio.
The item that sticks out to me the most is bottle water from vending machines. At my school, they charge $1.75 for a 20oz of Aquafina. I know at Walmart, I can get 35 pack of water for $3.33 (plus CRV-stupid California) And even though it's not Aquafina water, it tastes all the same to me. So including the CRV, I would say that the cost per bottle is 15 cents.
If you broke down 15 cents into the 1.75, you could buy 11 store bought water for that one vending machine water. (and i know you could argue that you could get water for free from tap but i like my bottle water)
The same concept applies to vending machine snack foods and such.
I personally think the biggest ripoff is alcoholic beverages. It's easily 2-3x the price of other liquids you can buy from the grocery store (or 4x+ in restaurants).

Health care is a ripoff too. It used to be affordable (crazy, that the program is called "affordable" health care. That's the biggest joke I've heard in a long time). But now, you can't not only afford it, but get a fine for not being able to do so as well. What a great way to get screwed over! Congrats, majority, for messing up things even more!

We don't know why everyone is poor. There are different reasons. Some poor people never had money to begin with, to spend. Lots of poor people did work but fell on difficult circumstances - health, disability, etc.
I would not include restaurants as a rip off. Part of the reason people dine out is, not just to eat food, but to not have to cook and clean the kitchen afterward. Some places offer entertainment and its also a chance to get out and go somewhere. They may want a nice evening out once in a while and are willing to pay more for food they are eating, so they can have that experience. A good restaurant with good food & service is often worth the price you pay.
I've been going to see some of my old time fav musicians at concerts and paid $25-100/tix. Springsteen and Sting were the top level. The Who as well. But lately I see even the lower end acts are starting to charge way too much to see them. I refuse to pay top dollar unless it's one of those once-in-a-lifetime concerts. Rip Off imo....
Pro sports concessions - another ripoff. Beer costs $8-10 + tip......I'm not buying that stuff there. I'll tank up beforehand if I want to get "relaxed".....I see people at the venues shelling it out and wonder if they have huge debt.
My biggest ripoff peeve is room taxes added onto motel/hotel rooms, can be 4 different line-item taxes (cable-bill worthy). This is done to out-of-towners because they can't vote against it and can add 25 to 30% on top of sometimes ridiculous room rates. Also done with car rentals too.
I won't go back to some places because of these stick-it-to-you taxes, usually bigger cities are biggest offenders.
