Better that -- than to presume the person has no idea what they're talking about and is therefore making him/herself sound stupid and doesn't even know it.
Both my Kia and my Volvo were made in the US.

Let's not quibble over component parts and percentages.

But if you put a cookie sheet under them, they’re fine and safe. And usually reusable.

I don’t buy enough to even think.

Oh! I know! I bough a bakers hutch type thing from the local charity shop - a garden station thingy… it’s ugly ans completely useless. The iron sides have curves that reminded me of my mom who passed a few years ago, and I thought she’d like it.

It’s not old, well made, useful - I was still grieving. Still am. It’s an eyesore. I regret getting it. But the iron curves on the sides - oh! I can take it apart and use the iron parts for morning glories to climb! Now I’m happy. If they survive, that is.

Sigh.

Funny you brought this up. My aunt/uncle bought one and HATED it so much they gave it my cousin, now it sits in her guest bed. $2800 wasted.

I've wasted good money on crap products more than anything. Things like cheap hoses, cheap tools, and cheap clothes. Nowadays, if you want things to last, you need to pay a little more to get the good stuff.

Maybelline SuperStay 30H Foundation. Used to love their 24 hour foundation. Went on smooth and looked natural. I ordered my usual 24 on Amazon and got this. This is now the "new and improved." Goes on like paste and looks heavy and bad. Will have to go through the hassle of finding a new brand.

Lipstick.
Pandemic mask-wearing got me out of the habit, and recently I threw out all my George Bush II-era lipsticks.
Only tinted lip balm for me these days.

But how much do you use it? Amortize it over the amount of hours you use it and suddenly it is the cheapest thing you own!

I've seen the phrase used: domestic imports.

Plenty of Toyotas, Hondas, Acuras, Subarus, Volkswagens -- even Mercedes -- are made in the U.S.

So that foreign brand car some people bought might have been made in the U.S. meaning it was American made after all. Perhaps no one here, but lots of people say (with an air of superiority, I might add) that they don't buy American made, and don't even know they are buying just that. So much for not buying American made.
Look at the VIN........if it starts with 1 then it was made in the USA

Be careful buying things off Amazon - often it's some "other country" item so NOT the same thing.
