Bought a car on a sealed bid auction, drove it 4 years, put over 120,000 miles on it during that time, and totaled it when some idiot pulled out in front of me. Her insurance settled and paid me about 25% more than I had originally purchased it for, 4 years earlier.
My husband has an Italian made suit he bought for $10, then got $60 worth of alterations on to make it fit well. It's about $1000 new.
I can't even add up the deals I've gotten shopping at San Diego thrift stores. Gucci, Prada, D&G, Nine West, Express, New York and Company, Baby Phat jeans..all for a few bucks here and there.
My college education is free because of federal grants and scholarships. I can't think of a better bargain than that.
Stocks - Citibank purchased at $1.08 per share, now at $3.20, Bank Of America purchased at $3.79 per share, now at $10.38.
Other than that, I get bargains at my local flea market all the time. Last summer, I found an Edwin Bennett pottery fruit jar in excellent condition andmade in the 1860s for $1.00 - book value was listed at $160.00, actually sold it on ebay for $105.00. I have found many other antiques there as well, some kept, other sold, all at tidy profits.
Bargains are everywhere - you just need to know where to look!
One that I got recently was a 70% off rack rate deal at a wonderful little hotel. We were originally booked at an iffy 2* place and were able to upgrade to an amazing 4* place for only $10 a night more with the deal I found!
A very small 1 bedroom rundown house in an old neighborhood for $6,500 in 1995. We fixed it up over time and it rents for between $400 and $500 a month.

I'm about to graduate with a "free" BS. Scholarships and grants paid 100%+ of my tuition. 'Course I worked hard to keep a high GPA for the scholarships too.
I went on EBay, bid on a lot of US mint stamps from a German seller. I missed that you had to pay cash. I mailed $40 to him hidden in a mailing. I heard nothing for three months so I thought I had been ripped off.
Four months later, I get a big box from Germany that contained over $400 in face value mint US stamps which I was able to sell at face.
