I'm about to graduate with a "free" BS. Scholarships and grants paid 100%+ of my tuition. 'Course I worked hard to keep a high GPA for the scholarships too.
Good job. It is hardly "free" in that you had to work your butt off to get it done.
How funny - I just wore this skirt today. I got it at TJ Maxx probably about 6 or 7 years ago for $2! Still love it and it's gotten more compliments than many other clothes.
Oh, you're not gonna believe this one! About a month ago I was shopping at Trader Joe's. I was gonna buy cabbage anyway and saw these bags with two heads of "baby" cabbage. I'd never seen "baby" cabbage before, but it looked good... why not give it a try... I thought the price next to it was a mistake or a joke - A penny! I'll be darned, but it did ring up as $0.01!
Most of my clothes are free. I also get lots of free fishing and camping equipment. My wife gets stuff also. This winter she got a nice parka that would have cost $120, and I just got a new pair of boots that would have cost me $160 if I had to pay for them.
We get this free stuff from Cabela's by just using their credit card. We use it for everything that we can, including groceries, gas, and all of our monthly living expenses and stuff we buy at any store or on line. Since it's a VISA card, it's accepted most anywhere and the free points just pile up. It's not like some "rewards" credit cards that give you a limited choice, you have the whole Cabela's catalog to choose your free stuff from, and there are no restrictions.
Of course we always pay it off each month or it wouldn't be such a good deal.
I'm surprised they haven't taken it away from us because we have done this for years, never paid them any interest, and have gotten thousands of dollars worth of free stuff.
A 1987 Honda Civic for 3000 dollars with only 50K miles on it, in great condition, sold to me by an old lady who drove it about a mile to and from work everyday. Her husband passed away and she wanted a new car, so she sold me that one. I could kick myself for ever getting rid of it!
If we're talking non-living things, probably my college education. I started off with a full tuition/expenses scholarship, continued later when my ex was a professor and I could get classes comped, then through a few jobs that paid for the remaining credits I needed to graduate. I did have to buy some of my own textbooks, though.
My bachelor's degree! Full ride scholarships are a beautiful thing.
Beyond that, I have a $90 skirt that I only paid $7 for. Not sure how I came across a sale like that but no complaints here.
