Raised that way.

Grew up in a family that ran a small business. Contract work, money had to stretch from job to job, and some jobs were done in a week (so weekly paycheck), and some took multiple months (much bigger paycheck but didn't come till conclusion of job). Cash flow was always an issue. So, learning how to make things stretch was a way of life.

My paycheck comes regularly, but by now, it's just habit.

this economy is tough. i dont make a lot of money and i pay 500 a month in child support. if you want a better living situation you can either get a better job (dificult right now) or lower your amount of outgoing money. i choose the latter. i work on our vehicles, including rebuilding my engine last fall. i do all of our home maint. and the only thing i pay a repairman for is refridgerant charge on the fridge or house ac.
