C'mon everyone lighten up.Where does frugality end where it is obsessive. You can't take your money with you. You have to be happy with your life.

It is great to be be frugal in some aspects so you can put that savings into things you enjoy.

That is great Nicole on your grocery savings! I wish I could the same!

2 single cups Cinnamon Toast Crunch
1 single cup Lucky Charms
1 pkg single serve cups Sucess Yellow Rice
4 Easy Mac Single Serve cups
2 Kraft salad dressings (16 oz)
2 8 oz Miracle Whip squeeze bottles
2 bottles Kraft BBQ sauce
2 bottles Cascade Rinse 8 oz
2 20 count Chinet Salad Bowls
1 20 count Chinet crystal cups
1 20 count Chinet dessert plates
2 Glade gel plug ins
3 Jello boxes
3 Jello pudding boxes
Country Time Pink Lemonade
2 boxes Ronzoni Spaghetti
4 bags wacky mac pasta
1 box Capri Sun Morning drinks
1 bag pita bread
4 pork shoulder steaks
2 lbs 80% ground beef
2 cantalopes
4 1/2 gallon bottles Turkey Hill Lemonade
2 pints Breakstone sour cream
5 pkgs Kraft cheese singles (16 count)
1 Colgate Toothpaste
1 scope mouthwash

These are probably the only items I'd buy - most coupons seem to be for products I'd never use

I always make my own salad dressing - takes 5 minutes to prepare, keeps well, costs virtually nothing and tastes MUCH better than all those sugary bought ones

I tend to look in-store for the 2-1 deals on shower gels, handwash etc.

Cutting coupons is one of my favorite things to do. I love sitting with my coffee on Sunday morning and going through the coupon inserts!

This is my MO:
• plan the menu for the week on Sunday (this saves a ton of money, as I only buy what I need, I can plan on the use of one ingredient in several dinners, and I don't get distracted at the grocery)
• see if any of the coupons in that Sunday's paper are for what I need (or if any that I have saved in my coupon folder will work)
• sometimes I will adjust my menu around some exceptional savings on a reasonable item, or a coupon that's about to expire, but I really hold back from "junk savings"- I try to be as frugal with my coupon clipping as I do with my shopping.
• I save a bunch!

Call me crazy, but I find it a fun weekly challenge to save as "smartly" as possible!

Personally, I was paying about $5/mo on a Virgin Mobile prepaid until my employer gave me a Blackberry. His rules were basically that I could make domestic calls and data services free BUT ... I had to repspond to his e-mails.

I paid.....

$34!!! It was $110.77 before coupons!!!! I was so excited I had to take a picture when I got home!!!! This is so wonderful! We are on a stiff budget and couldn't have afforded this without the coupons my inlaws sent.

My camera isn't working so I had to use my blackberry.

WOO-HOO! Good for you!

My note -- I've never seen single cups of cereal. I remember those little boxes that you could cut open and use as a bowl....

I guess that makes me old....

It's fun to make a killing at the grocery store. Products you don't use can be donated. Nice job NicoleJ

Wink Frugal grocery shopping

Coupons are great if you can get the things you buy anyway. There are a lot of ideas for saving money on groceries while buying what you really need to make healthy meals for your family at this site: <a

I have never lived in an area with double or triple coupon days.

I could do some major damage with that perk.
