The live oak is number one around here, as almost everyone has at least one in their yard. The crepe myrtle, pecan and bald cypress are also very popular.
Here it's lilacs that everyone seems to have at least one in their yard. But then we are KNOWN as the "Lilac City" LOL
Love the look when they all bloom at once, but such a short blooming time..........and they sure make a mess when the blooms drop.
Apart from the lilacs, it seems every house here (pretty much) feels they NEED some ginormous pine or fir in their yard, so of course, EVERY year it seems we have some come down during bad storms - sigh. I would never buy a house with some HUGE pine/fir in the yard ever again.
