Hmmm...I still have a hard time understanding why you need to kill them. Spiders lay eggs. They lay so many because the majority don't survive. As long as their not in your house it should be ok.
Now and then, I would like to use my garage... and the outside areas around the home as well... the spiders aren't in my home but they are everywhere else... I was thinking about leveling all the trees to decrease their habitats but I like the trees...
I been trying to think up of ways to kill the spider pests outside of the home in the yard... I have tons of them and live in the south... I tried looking for videos that show ladybugs as predators against spiders (especially big ones) but all I see are spiders killing ladybugs... do ladybugs really kill spiders? And do they survive the heat of the south? Thanks... I also have a detached garage that I hardly use... there are tons of spiders in there even though it is practically empty... will the ladybugs go in there and clean it out?
I havent read the whole thread but I had an enclosed garage that had a ton of those real skinny spiders. I closed it up, set out about 5 bombs and left for the weekend. End of spiders and that was 20 years ago.
I have lots of ladybugs in my yard and I am in central Florida, very hot and humid.
We are having grasshoppers really bad this year or I am, the big yellow ones.
Open up the doors, let the light in and the birds will probably eat them for you.
Alternatively, I have a radical pest control solution website which may work and which I have been using on cockroaches for the last few years. Pm me if you are interested in humane methods of pest control !!
If there is food for the spiders, that is where they will thrive. You could try getting rid of "spider food" but each type of spider will have a different diet. Here in NC we have certain wasps that capture/kill spiders and store them in their mud nests for their babies to eat. Mud daubers. Really, there is not much you can do except ignore/avoid the spiders. or move to an apartment (pretty drastic).
I don't mind the spiders as long as they are not venomous. Do frogs eat spiders?
BTW, years ago when I had a fantastic garden that I worked on for over a year turning a typical builder's front yard into a masterpiece I bought ladybugs online to kill the aphids and other garden pests. I gave some to my mother and sister. However despite having about a thousand I rarely saw them after the first few days.

Yup, it gives them time to settle in, and begin the hunt. Otherwise they just fly off in the sunset.
