Well that must be it then. I'm looking into trunk baffles--it was bad enough last year to not get any, but none formed to get us salivating either. My mother has been going to a neighboring farm to pick them up and no problems there though not nearly as many as she had.

Squirrels. I've seen them literally overnight take nearly all the nuts from butternut trees. I can imagine them doing the same with pecans. Controlling the squirrel population is the only real solution. They're pretty clever animals.
