Can anyone help me figure out why my sweet banana peppers have black skid marks on them?

When I get black marks on my peppers it means I've left them on the plant for too long. They're just ripe.

Default banana peppers

We're growing banana peppers in our bathroom. They're doing fairly well, but I'll be on the lookout for skid marks!

I've had the skid mark problem in the past. Picking them earlier seemed to get rid of that problem. Summers - I've been growing them inside in a controlled environment for the last two summers and encountered the same problem - you've just got to pull those suckers off when they're ready.

It has nothing to do with their being ripe or overripe, etc. It's not abnormal and there's nothing wrong with the pepper. The black streaks may fade as the pepper ripens.

Enjoy!
