I'm getting big ants in my house , just killed 8 of them last evening. It seems like they are crawling up the inside of the wall , and exiting from my sink back splash.
Yes , there are tons of " stuff " on the market but what really works ?!?
Thanks for any info.....Bob

Default TERRO Ant Killer

I had a problem with ants in the past and was told to use TERRO ant killer. It worked GREAT. Their website gives alot of information worth reading.
Good luck getting rid of those pesky creatures.

I get them in the summer months... especially when the kids drop crumbs on the floor and do not clean them up -- [i'm usually out of town, then come back to tons of ants]

I hate spraying things due to my dog.... but i have had good luck with "Ant traps"
I also spray with a soap and water mixture that i use for my plants [to kill bugs] and vacuum A LOT. that combination usually takes care of them.

good luck -- it's an awful battle, but it can be won.

Mix 1/2 teaspoon of boric acid powder with 1 tablespoon of honey in a jar lid and leave it at their point of entry or exit. When it looks like they're gone caulk around the sink and any other cracks or small holes that they might be able to get through.

I'm not sure how well it will work on "big ants" but I've had good luck in the past by spraying right around the perimeter of the house (where the exterior wall meets the grade) with one of the commercial pesticides, and even using those little packet things they make (you just put them on the ground around the perimeter of the house).

Some years I have trouble with ants and some years I don't. They like to come into the utility room and steal the cat food I'm put down for my kitty.

Living in Florida ants are a constant nuisance. I use Terro, and it works for me.

That name sounds familiar. Is that those packet-like things, or a spray?

Terro (http://www2.yardiac.com/long.asp?item_id=34270 - broken link) is a powder, or "dust."

Terro liquid bait is what our exterminator recommended to us. Amazing stuff! The little buggers take the "bait" and return to the colony where it is fed to the rest of the crew. We had a big problem and things are looking up!
