Well.....the fig tree I planted eleven years ago finally is full of green figs, I've eaten a few of the "early birds" but the majority are still green. The major portion of my garden has done its' thing and has browned out. My last planting of tomatos, (Cherokee Purples, one 75 ft long row) are still green but starting to show a bit of color. Will be really glad when they ripen so I can go back onto my tomato sandwich diet again, it won't be long, week and a half at the most.
Chocolate cherries are the best. We had them this year as well.
We got our water bill yesterday, I think we are about to let the garden go this year. I have been saying that for the past month but keep hanging in there. Well, we are down to picking one or two little tomatoes a day if that, and they are getting smaller. We also get a cuke or two each day. I have lots of tomato blossoms, but the heat is keeping them from setting. I will give it one more week, unless we get rain and lower temps the garden comess out.
Why don't you get some rain barrels and harvest your own rainwater for your garden so you don't have to buy city water? Your plants will prefer it -- besides.

As bad as the drought has been all over our country I doubt you'd get enough rain water to water porch flowers let alone a whole garden.

2 reasons, 1-it isn't allowed here and 2-it is pretty hard to harvest your own rain water when you have had almost no rain for over a year....
I suspect that I may well be addicted to tomato sandwiches!!! Dang!!! they bees good!!!! If I could grow and harvest tomatos year round, I would probably become a tomatotarian.

Know exactly how you feel: I thought I was getting a little tired of them until we didn't have anymore, now I could cry...We do have some new blossoms and the weather has cooled down a lot so there is hope for a small harvest in Sept or early Oct. I have my fingers crossed. We are also finally getting rain: We had an inch a couple of nights ago with a lot more on the way or so we are being told.
Beans and okra. I picked a jalapeno and fed it to the chickens.
Gee I have a few jalapenos; they are about the size of a thumb nail. They didn't like the summer heat. Earlier they were much larger, that was about 2 months ago...
I thought jalapenos liked heat. I got my plants at a 50-cent sale...but yep they're not doing much. I thought maybe it wasn't hot enough or something.
Today I got mo squash! A butternut, yellow crookneck and a green striped summer squash. I think I got the seed from someone, because I don't know what it is. I got more okra, beans and a watermelon! I ate a piece of the watermelon, and the rest of the stuff is roasting for my dinner.
