It has been raining off and on for 2 days so I haven't even checked, but I can see, from the window a few yellow tomatoes and a few red ones. The sun is trying to come out now, so I will either go and check now or tomorrow morning...

I made a batch of broccoli leaves over the weekend. Although I am not a fan of collard greens, why would I want to waste the leaves that are totally edible and quite tasty. I used the older leaves and prepared them like I would greens - a tiny piece of pork chop bone, red pepper flakes, onion and salt.

Eat your broccoli leaves!

Maybe I can freeze it for you, put it in big bags and send it Air Express or Fed EX...Would that work? You are welcome to it. You should see our poor tomato plants. Yes, we are getting tomatoes, I picked a couple today but the bottom leaves, all the way up to the middle of the plants are not just brown, but shriveled up. They look awful.

Well it is still raining, actually not this minute, but we got somewhere around 6 inches last night, so this year's garden has about had it. I cant' believe what a difference a year makes. We had one year that was breaking heat, but we did get some rain, so the garden produced a few things, last year no rain and the hottest summer on history here in NWA, nothing except a few cantalope. We didn't even get sweet potatoes and now this. Between the rain and the squash bugs I have torn some of the plants out and when it slows down, probably Sat or Sun I will tear the rest out. I even dusted for the damn squash bugs a few nights ago, just to have it pour down. I am guessing all it did was give the bugs a good mud bath. We are still getting tomatoes but they are small. the only real producers are the cherry tomatoes. We are getting some green bells, I picked a good sized one today, but the cukes, nada!!!! Though we have catalope, I have no idea if they are going to be any good.

Crookneck squash, green beans, tomatoes and basil. The 3 cucumber plants have over 100 on them but all the same size (2-3") so I expect to be eating a lot of them for weeks.
