I gave up on the spinach from at yr and yanked it today. Tiny black flying thing plus white yuckies on the under leaves. So I pulled it all and dumped it. What are those? What do I do with my soil now?
Still a newbie at this. Daughter (7) has leukemia so I wanted to plant fresh veggies. I can't uses chemical herbicides due to her chemo.
I am afraid to start lettuce again in the same soil. We are in Albuquerque, new Mexico, zone 7a/b.
Any help.?
Pests stink!
Thx.

Jenn, good luck to your daughter.
I can't tell you about the little pests, but I do think you can try the leettuce anyway, do it now cause you only have a little bit of time for growing before it gets to hot. The best gardens I ever had were in the Albuquerque area, we lived just east of the river from Belen. Of course we had an auto sprinkler system as well, so I think that helped us. good luck.
