We've had the same problem in the past. Last year we planted our seeds in pots which we kept up on the deck right against the house. The squirrels didn't find them. When the plants were about 18 inches tall, we moved them to the garden. This worked, I don't know if it was the size of the plants or the timing - maybe there was nothing else to draw the squirrels to the garden and they forgot about it. Anyhow, we're going to try the same thing again this year.

It takes a real sick-o, ugly person to kill a squirrel in a trap, and someone even sicker than that to do it knowing that other animals could be killed while doing it.

Well I have a problem with these squirrels climbing up the sunflower eating half of it and then going to the next. Even the ones that haven't started to bloom. From what I'm reading, I'm supposing my yard squirrels are going to end up being dead squirrels.
