Anyone successfully growing a Meyer's Lemon indoors? (palm, fertilizer, tree)

Just want to know how many people can seriously keep one alive long enough to produce fruit? And if you absolutely must take them outdoors in summer cuz call me funny but I don't like bringing plants inside that have been outdoors because then gnats hatch out in the house and since I moved here I noticed millipedes getting inside that way.

This is the first yr I have had mine...it currently has good-sized green fruit...but I leave it outdoors in sun...will have to bring inside around Dec/Jan for a few months.

I use fertilizer for citrus...full sun is best for fruit production unless, you have a great sunny spot indoors by windows.

This is such a timely thread as I just looked at one that was nicely priced on Amazon last night. I want one sooooo badly. So all info welcome please. I love lemons and they are so expensive.

They definitely need full sun and citrus fertilizer. I had problems growing a Meyer lemon (also known as the Mexican leon) in a large concrete planter....it kept getting white flies. They do best in full sun - they are a heat loving and sun loving plant.

I wonder how much a Meyer's lemon would like long-term indoors? Even if you had enough sun, wouldn't it be too dry inside? But maybe not.

Mine are on the front porch, in containers, year-round. I've had them for 5 years now and other than needing re-potting they're fine and produce delicious fruit.
It can get pretty cold here in north Florida (sometimes below freezing several days in a row) and when that happens I cover them with sheets or towels.

well I just bit the bullet and ordered the one from Amazon. It is going indoors so I will report as progress goes.

The people that ordered one on Amazon what age tree did you get? I think it has to be something like 6 years old to bear fruit. My grandmother had one years ago and everyone loved that plant. It had the shiniest green leaves (guess it was the lemon oil) and it smelled so GOOD when it was growing fruit. I remember it growing a lemon when we were all visiting at Christmas one year. It was indoors, but she had a nice sunroom with windows all around. I think I am going to purchase an adolescent one and see how it goes. Maybe it will get enough light indoors in winter as I managed to keep a majesty palm alive indoors through the winter. I do have a small sunlamp though. Actually its just a full spectrum lamp I saw online then I found it at Big Lots same model for $10 less. I had read online it had the same spectrum as growing lamps and reviewer's had said their houseplants did well with it.

I wonder if its grafted? Please followup with us after the plant arrives and tell us how tall it is and if it does have fruit. You must have paid a lot to get one with fruit.
