Cambium, I love seeing your garden photos! Up here in southern New Hampshire I have planted lots of annuals in those big tubs you can get at Wal-Mart ... am doing lots of container gardening in my front yard although I will also be doing raised flower beds.
My back yard is quite large (lot is 1.29 acres and probably 50% of that is my back yard) and has a Southern exposure so gets a TON of sun. I think I am going to try to grow veggies back there. is it too late to start this year?

Too late to start from seeds but try it as an experiment. See how much you get from them. I would buy a few plants at this point. If you start seeds today seedlings will emerge by mid May. They'll be 8 weeks old by mid July. Start blooming flowers by mid August. You might get lucky and get a few weeks worth of yeilds. Thats if weather cooperates. I assume your growing season ends in September there?
Night temps into the 30s well below normal. Plants brought inside and everything is still waiting to go outside. Amazing season here with the inibility to sustain even 70s.
So here they are.. desperately wanting the ground but waiting patiently. Still pissed seed germination is at an all time low. Seeds are just not emerging this year so this is my lucky group.
May 17, 2013 everything got planted into the ground except the cucumers which are back inside.
Just one of those springs. Had another Chilly night and I know peppers dont like it. So I had to cover them last night.
Potatoes doing well.
Even after a slow 2 week harden off process, the cucumbers are sensitive to the sun. They should recover from it.

Your plants are gorgeous! Now let's hope it doesn't turn blazing hot as soon as you get them in the ground.
Cambium what are you putting in those Solo cups? That's amazing growth for seedlings, if you can even call them that anymore.
