I have the blue crystals by Miracle Grow and an Ortho Dial Sprayer. My question is how to figure dilution ratios. I think the Ortho is for liquids and the Miracle Grow is granular. I know it is simple to just buy the Miracle Grow sprayer but I hate to spend the extra cash. I am in S. Florida and have a wide range of plants. For some reason- Gubment I guess, the price of granular fertilizer is getting very costly just like anti-freeze for your car, but that is another rant.

Why would the government be responsible for the price of fertilizer going up? Miracle-Gro has been overpriced for as long as I can remember.

Set the Ortho dial sprayer for 2-3 tsp. per gallon and don't overapply. Water with plain water first and then use the fertilizer applicator.

According to Scotts, set the dial at 4 and oz and add 8 tablesspoons of MG., add water to Ortho Dial Sprayer and spray away.
Thank you,
Sid

My tip: Don't use those hose sprayer deals with MG - too wasteful. Also, the concentration decreases with time.

Use MG individually with a watering bucket. For big jobs (lawns, shrubs, etc) over a wide area, use a granular general purpose fertilizer.

Never thought about it that way, MG is very expensive. I have a lot to fertilize, trees, palms, exotic fruit, orchids, vegies, lawn, avocados etc. Using 6-6-6 would be easier too. What rate should I use.
