I live in Connecticut. Noticing two types of weeds starting to spread, not sure what they are. Id like to id them so I can try to use the best weed killer for them that will spare my lawn.
They are growing amongst my grass.
Looks like creeping charlie to me. Good Luck. I had it on LI and every spring would have to hit it with preemergent but I have been told you need to dig it out to fully eradicate it. I had been going at it like a demon with success but it is difficult to get rid of....not impossible however, I have been told.

It does look like Creeping Charlie, but there is an annual as well as a perennial form, so you need to ID which one you have. Here is a good site: http://hort.uwex.edu/articles/creeping-charlie
You need to kill it if it is a perennial. If it's an annual, you can kill it off as well, but if you can keep it mowed to clip the flowers off so it doesn't drop seed, it will die off on its own. Then a preemergent early next spring should prevent it from coming back. The same applies to crabgrass, which is an annual.
Look for products like Trimec or SpeedZone to take care of lawn weeds, but read the label carefully and do not overapply these products or you will damage the lawn. Weed-B-Gone should also work. If anyone tells you to spray the weeds with vinegar, don't do it. You'll be really sorry.
Oh yeah, Creeping Charlie. I have it, and probably the perennial type because it is all over my yard.
I mow it into my lawn because I am not at all fussy about having a perfect lawn but it really gets to be a problem in my perennial beds since it takes over. So far I just pull it out by hand but it comes back or re-propogates right away so it's a constant battle.

I am evil. I will spray any weed that's perennial because I'm never certain I get it all when I pull it. And this year, I'm not able to use a preemergent granule in my berms because PuppyTeddy loves to scamper through the berms that have the trees and largest shrubs like they're his own private forest preserve. And he eats mulch. OMG, do my dogs love to chew on mulch...
