I believe it may be a magnolia variety with pinkish bloom. I'll get a close up of the bloom.

That does look like an Japanese magnolia or "saucer" magnolia leaf. I have several in my yard that I have trained to grow as single-trunk trees.
But usually the flowers bloom before the leaves come out, although I have one that always has a few flowers on it after the others fall off and it is fully leafed out.
I think it is a Rose of Sharon or Althea also. Does the bloom look like this?
Okay, I am getting confused by looking at photos and not seeing who is posting them! Magnolias would have bloomed already, wouldn't they? OP, where are you located?
