Okay...he's a natural gardener, or whatever he calls it.

But that doesn't explain the unkempt shrubs growing up to the porch roof?

Oooops.

Just a slacker.

Be honest and answer this question turthfully.

If you were looking for a home to live in with you family,
and a realtor took you to a house next door to this man home and garden
which is for sale, what would you tell.

Would you buy the house, and live next door to this mess ?

.

What bothers me most is that the 'Reporter' or 'Announcer', cannot pronounce 'garden'. It's not 'gar-den'.

In any event, a nice hedge would have lowered wind velocity (thereby conserving moisture and mediating temperature extremes) and prevented the uproar from the neighbors.

He will save a few dollars on vegetables, but he will lose his house.

This is not a garden. He is not growing his own food, he just accidently gets some stuff once in awhile. I doubt he even eats it. He isn't taking care of anything. He isn't "alternative", he's just lazy. You can't hide being the phrase "natural" all the time.

I tend to agree with this comment. Farmers/gardeners don't sit around to see what happens to pop up. If he was planting a food garden, he would need to be somewhat organized to at least get a decent harvest. Real farmers don't let weeds crowd out their plants.

Why do we accept this system as correct? Why do we let ourselves be dictated by some arbitrary code of what makes a house appreciate or depreciate in value? If I'm buying a home, I couldn't care less what the neighbour's houses and yards looked like. As long as I knew they weren't drug-dealers or psychopaths, I really wouldn't care. Why do we allow property prices to be influenced by the appearance of neighbouring properties?

I don't see anything rough or junky-looking in his garden. I see a beautiful, lush vegetable garden. If I were buying a home in his area, a glimpse of his garden would encourage me in my purchase.

A resounding YES to that. Even if I didn't like the man's garden (but I do), why would that affect my decision? I'm not buying his house. I'm buying the one next door. I'm really at a loss to understand your line of reasoning. If your (future) neighbour isn't a criminal, nothing he/she does is any of your concern.

Don't know where the reporter looked, but this is "beauty berry" - I happen to have one of these bushes. And the leaves are really kind of small for the supposed purpose...
