Yes, I have watered it with a hose but have been relying on rain lately. I never thought about chlorine in the water. That's definitley something to keep in mind.

I also think my grass may be cut too short. My neighbor has a beautiful lawn and his grass is longer than mine.

That is in a cool season area. Now to narrow it down as to which of the cool mixtures would be best for you. Your neighbors should be the best ones to ask about that.
