That works both ways, honey.

If one poster is going to belittle or diminish me or tells me I'm full of B.S. because I've shared my 30-plus years of gardening experience - which the person asking for the advice is free to use, or not - that poster deserves all the snark I have to give.

So, cry me a river. As my first boss once told me: "I don't give a ***** what you learned in college; now you're going to get a real education."

I spend most of my time in the Religious forums. I've developed an immunity to everything.

That is condescending and patronizing IMO. And apparently you have plenty of snark to offer.

And lots of gardening experience, too. Which I will gladly share with you. And which you are most cordially invited to consider, or dismiss. It's up to you.

But it's not up to someone else to say that my experience is wrong, or stupid or silly. That is condescending, patronizing and insulting.

I rest my case.

What it boils down to for me is, while I appreciate good advice, I really don't care to be told to p--- o-- by an "educated" person trying to be a Star of a forum. I have found that some really informative posters become quite defensive if not given their "due respect" (which is what this thread is all about, isn't it?).

How about if we re-title this thread:

Please Don't Run Those Seeking Information Off
