I have a couple of questions that I need answers to before I run out and purchase a new hedge clipper.

My first question is: Should I go with a corded or battery powered one?

I have never had any type of battery operated tool (other than a drill) that was worth a d@mn .. battery wears out quickly or doesn't hold a charge for long and is usually underpowered.

My other question is: What length blade is ideal?

I have be using a cr@ppy little 16 inch blade for a few years and it really sucks using it on my four foot wide hedges!

I am not really sure what length blades are available?

Simple as they are, those are my two questions that I hope some of you can help me with.

Thank You

I'm thinking you should go with a corded trimmer that's more than 2 feet long

Your standard Black & Decker-type electric hedge trimmer, 16" or 22" should do the job. I find battery-operated annoying and underpowered and as long as you have an extension cord you're good to go.

Personally, I won't own anything with a cord, if it cuts. It would be my luck I'd cut the cord and not realize it, then step on it barefoot in tall wet grass while it's still plugged in.

PFFFFFFFFFFFT!

I use the green lithium Ryobi tools and they last forever. I keep several batteries & two battery chargers so I can rotate the batteries out.

More 'wise-guy' advice!

Whichever one you get spend the extra bucks and get it with the illegal alien attachment.

The illegal alien attachment will save you a lot of work and you can also use him on your lawnmower, weed eater, and they are especially good on leaf blowers.

How much hedge do you have? How big are your hedges?

I own both. I hate corded tools.
The corded is almost never used... but I haven't sold it.
