I'm a guy actually.

Roosty yes, I live on the water. Saw an alligator basking on the opposite shore a few months ago.

I never considered the greenhouse idea. It sounds quite enticing, I'll look into what it would take construction and cost wise.

Container gardening is my last resort.

Some people are terrified of ANY wildlife. I would be so happy to see a gator in my backyard and with global warming it may yet happen! In fact they found a 5-foot gator in a lake some miles north of here a few years ago. Fat and sassy despite living in Michigan.

I suggest that you put a serious fence around your yard to keep our the iguanas, the way we do here for our rabbits and deer. They are wily climbers so you may even want a chicken-wire lid over the top. That should do it.

Apropos of nothing I used to have pet iguanas. One was really sweet, and one was not so I guess they have personalities. The sweet one was my little love. He or she LOL was so cute and liked to eat tofu.

I hope to he** not. Gators are not cute. They are dangerous wild animals. I would no more want to see a gator in my backyard than I would want to see a tiger or a grizzly bear.

I have never heard of iguanas eating someone's plants. That's a new one. I guess I would just plant double like we did up north for the bunnies and deer, and try to figure out which plants they don't like.
Here, we only have the little anole lizards and we love watching them. They eat lots of bugs, and hopefully your iguanas are eating your bugs too.
