I live in the Houston, TX area. We just moved into a house 2 months ago. There are a few bushes in front of the home whose name I don't know. They are planted relatively close to each other. One of them looks like dead, though I am not sure. The leaves have curled and turned red. Could anyone help me figure out what is wrong and what I can do to correct it? I water adequately (2 times a week even in this heat). Grass and other bushes seem to be doing fine. This bush should get a lot of shade. Please see the attached image. It shows the red bush, surrounded by apparently healthy, green bushes of the same type.
You cannot fix this, it is a 98% dead bush. Finished.
Red tip photinia I think? Typical.
Dig it up and throw it away. No loss anyway as it was planted right in front of your window where it did not belong. It is not wise to plant large growing shrubs in front of a window, as you can see from the dead pruned branch stubs.

Thanks. I will throw it away. Could you elaborate on why it was not wise to plant it in front of a window? Any recommendations on what should be planted for when I have to do it?
It is dead as a doornail. Have a mass funeral and chop all those bushes down. Bushes are totally useless and a pain in the butt to maintain, IMO. I live in Houston, too, BTW, but it doesn't take a resident to recognize this. Generally, when plants become wilted, change color, and generally look miserable, they are dead (rather like human beings)
Slb,
Those bushes will get real big.
Don't plant bushes that close to your home, especially
in front of a window.
Why do you have to have anything there anyway?
Leave the area in front of the window open.
Buy pretty blinds. Or drapes with liners to block the sunlight.
