Hi we just bought a house and have great landscaping and the seller told us we were all set with the drip system on timer and then after a month of being here I wondered why the shrubs were dying underneath and my neighbor came over and said drip system wasn't even set. So he fixed it but tonight I saw that the one purple tree has no drip line to it and leaves all very dry. After everything seller did to us I am afraid the plant could die or are there some that don't need water? It's a dark purple leaved tree

It's probably a purple leaf plum (ornamental, not fruit tree.) Nice small trees... Get out your garden hose and water it thoroughly, deeply. It's not a desert tree that doesn't require watering. Depending on how large and established it is, once every other week should be more than enough in the winter; summertime will require more frequent watering (weekly.) Good luck.
