Hi,
I'm trying to think ahead to Sping already! Has anyone had success growing laurus nobilis - Bay Laurel - in a pot? I'm in zone 7a in North Carolina. Unfortunately, I don't get direct sun, but will being potted on a deck give any advantages/disadvantages?

I got my laurus nobilis as a seedling back in 1987, in 1991 the yard I got it from was torched in the Oakland/Berkeley Hills fire of 91 here in California. In 1992 I moved north to Humboldt county and kept it in pots till I moved here to McKinleyville in 2000 and planted it in the ground. It never put on much growth while potted and was about 4 feet tall when it went in the ground and is now about 12 feet tall.
