I know nothing at all about any plants that grow from corms, and I don't want to kill these by planting them in the wrong season, or, other circumstances. I have Narcissus bulbs that have already died back, which I dug up, but I don't know anything about when these corms, except the supposed color of their flower.

I live in USDA Zone 8-9, by the way.

Not understanding your quandary -

Stick them in the ground and see what happens. Are there other alternatives?

If someone who knows about plants that grow from corms, assuming they all have certain similarities in their needs, I'd like to find out what they are. For example, how deep to plant; how moist to keep them & for how long; what soil -&- weather conditions are best, -&- which are lethal to them; etc.

Nope... Do not assume common characteristics!

Ask the person who gifted them to you what they are and how to care for them.

Or.... Stick them in the ground and see what happens.
