I used to have dozens of rose bushes when we lived in the San Gabriel Valley in So.Calif. Then we moved to San Diego. I have planted Roses in the front of my condo, and I get like one flower bloom on each plant once every six months. The plants are alive, they just do not grow, branches or blooms. I have never seen this before. Any ideas. I am not a pro at this, my rose bushes in Covina just went wild with flowers every spring and didn't stop until late fall. Was I spoiled? Thanks. (PS - there are other roses growing in the area, so it isn't location so much)

Have you had your soil tested? How about the watering schedule? Lastly and perhaps the simplest answer is what kind of light is the bush getting?

OP have you tried using Bloom Plus or Miracle-gro fertilizers for roses, following their instructions roses should do great in SD.

Maybe it's the bushes themselves? I've always had great luck with roses here - lived all over San Diego county. However, I bought some bushes for our home in Temecula at Costco one year. They were in a variety pack of three and I bought two packs. For some reason - one of the varieties just wouldn't grow or bloom. The other two were non-stop bloomers.
