I have two neighbors who seemed to be competition with each other, they cut their like every two days. I see a lot of scalping. I cut mine once a week. I’m thinking they hate their wives and wanna get outside.
I wonder why people cut their grass so short, like a golf course. The grass is less healthy. Weed is easier to outgrow the grass and they have to use more water, chemical. I like the lush thick looking of slightly taller grass.
Some idiotic HOAs have code that require homeowners to cut grass at a certain short height.
Me too. I think these men are bored that they feel they have to cut their grass so short.

In prior years I'd cut mine at the highest setting but this year I decided to cut at the next to highest. It's a small but noticeable change, my lawn looks more well-kept.
You mean the higher cutting height doesn’t give as well of an appearance?
I actually like the look... the higher cut the better.

Used to mow real short when my "lawn" was mostly weeds.
As the lawn has thickened and began to choke out the weeds I've gradually started raising the height.
My lawn is actually almost all grass now. Starting to look good. I just kept seeding and seeding and watering until the grass has over taken the weeds. No fertilizer or anything, just seed and water.
Deck went from lowest setting last season to probably 3" this season.
