Get a shotgun, and a chest freezer to hold the venison steaks.

Yes....I've read that too. It has to be strong enough not to snap....but thin enough not to be visible to them as they approach.

The only method that really works, but is rather expensive, is the motion-detecting sprinkler system. You may need more than one, and some "Y" connectors for hoses.

Piles of brush, twigs, wood, deer wouldnt risk their legs no matter how hungry, a perimeter ditch works well too, a perimeter ditch + brush= deer proof.

The reason people have gone through the work and expense to build tall fences around their garden is they have tried nearly every "old wives tale" mentioned on the internet and had no success.

The people I know who built the tall fences didn't do it out of ignorance.

If all else fails I'd try bird netting and make like a green house .

Have you thought of sitting down with the deer and explaining your concerns? Seems like the civilized way to handle this....

This whole "Build a wall" thing is very Trumpian and, frankly, offensive.

You mean "rats on stilts"?

I let my dog out to bark at the deer. They won't come into my fenced yard because of the dog, so I have everything I care about inside the fence. The deer could jump it but don't because of the dog.

So the best solution is to fence your yard and get a dog, then fence your garden from the dog!

when I lived in Oklahoma I, too tried all the 'home remedies. What really worked was an electric fence. Took me 2 trips to the COOP and about 5 hours labor.
