My two dwarf Japanese Maples are doing the same thing.

My Japanese Maple is starting to bud too.

Grass is still dormant. Still below freezing at night..so I have a little bit of time. I just really hope we don't have another drought again like last summer.

We've had some odd temp swings. Had three days of 60s-70's, and then this weekend was single digits.

Back into the 30s40's now, but some snow and 20's due in for this weekend. Weather is just all over the place.

I have some supplies ready, but no clue as to when I will get my "go" signal to start doing yard work

You just couldn't keep that snow to yourself, could you BostonMike? Our forecast is calling for a decent chance of accumulating snow this weekend. If I have to actually use my snow blower this year, not even pointing out that it's nearly the middle of March, well I'm sending you a batch of crabgrass for Easter! :-)

Back to the 60s here this week, but 30s returning this weekend.

All season, still no real snow....spring is around the corner...

Got my crabgrass preventer down as soil temperature is right at that point where it's beginning to sprout. Plan to do a second application at the end of May.

As always the case with this area, this weekend is the last cold snap and then onto Spring....my grass already needs cut, daffodils are in full bloom, and all my trees are bursting out.

All the way up to NYC, soil temps are near 50', hope you got your crabgrass preventer down.

LMAO. Yeah, is it ok to put it down with snow on ground? Not to mention in the teens and 20s for a week coming up.

Snow total forecast for NYC metro area...

Agree. Spring is in the air. Cooler this weekend, but nearly mid March now, it's going to be a wonderful spring.
