Work was completed Wednesday night by a couple of Craigslist scammers of which I cannot get in touch with, as they are not returning my calls or messages

I was told to water the grass twice a day for 2-3 mins, in addition to the sprinklers

Another landscaper came and said a lot of the grass is dead/dying and to water 15mins/day 3x/day

What are my options now? This is a very stressful and costly event

Look for a horse feed store (usually out in the country), call them to see if they have any soybean MEAL and/or alfalfa MEAL. If so, go buy a bunch of it and spread it out on the sod. Water it in, and it should start to come back. You won't find this stuff at Home Depot. Only where they sell to farmers and/or ranchers.

I've seen this before with sod. Old neighbor had an addition put on the back of their house in summer of 2015. Bobcat equipment tore his yard to shreds. They threw sod down at the end. It wasn't taking, looked FAR worse than yours. He followed my advice and put down alfalfa and soybean. 3 weeks later, the grass was green, the sod lines were fading fast, and all was right with the world.
