I use the off brand of miracle gro that my local wal mart carries for like 3.38 and a couple of day after that I use some egg shells (rinsed out ) and water that has been sitting in a capped jar for about a week and it does wonders and also I add coffee grounds to the soil too I bury the coffee grounds .

Yep, I use Expert Gardener brand too, no point in paying for the Miracle Gro label. They even have a slow release which is just like Osmocote.

I just dig a hole in the bed and dump the cold coffee ground in there along with some crunched up egg shells and I tell you my roses this year are bigger than ever ... they amend the soil just like compost does ...
