Flowering Tree identification (flower, growing, leaves, fruits)

Can someone tell me what this tree is

I'm guessing a hawthorn.

Wild types usually flower white, but a lot of cultivars have pink to red flowers.

And before someone says cherry, take a look at the bark. It is definitely not a cherry.

Could also be a crab apple, but the leaves look lobed, more like a hawthorn.

Looking at your pic again, I'm not sure that those leaves are lobed after all.

So revising - if your tree has thorns and the leaves are lobed, it's probably hawthorn.

If it doesn't, it's probably a crab.

I say probably, because there are a lot of cultivars in both groups, and people tend to cultivate and propagate oddities!

No thorn or lobe.

The tree looks different than the typical crabapple. Definitely not cherry.

Nn2036 (and anyone else needing ID help) you need to take a close up of the flower, the bark, and the leaves, but especially the flower to get a close ID unless it is so dead obvious that you are the only one in the world who does not know its name. It is a huge help to see the flower in detail. Oh yeah, and to know where the tree is growing. What state? What climate?

It sure is a beautiful tree. I think it's a crabapple. I guess you'll know for sure when it fruits out.

It's definitely in the rose/apple family.

I also wondered about Amelanchier, but I don't think there are pink forms. But the leaves look OK for that.
