Hi. I have a small backyard. some covered by grass, some by mulch, weeds, plain dirt.

I've noticed around a dozen of these holes. The sizes vary - from 1" in diameter to 2.5". any idea what's causing this? is this a problem?

i have filled some of these holes with rocks or dirt or branches. either the filling gets removed, or another hole is created a foot away.

thanks.

Put out some rat traps or bait and see if the holes disappear.
