Is there a way to actually rid a South Texas yard of the thistle-like sticker burr weeds? I've mowed high, mowed low, sprayed weed killer, pulled out what I can by hand... but every year they come back with a vengeance.

Are you using a bag when you mow? If not you are just spreading more weed seeds everywhere.

Yep. Doesn't make any difference. I'm not talking about a spattering of these things... it's bad. Bad enough that I'm very near ready to have the nursery guys come out and dig/regrade and put some sod down. I fought it for 5 seasons now...

Sandburs I think. Best I can find says weed killer early and mow/bag frequently. Not working. Once a week isn't frequently enough, so I'm gonna do every two or three days for a couple weeks and see if that helps.

Same problem here. I pull them out and pick each little spike ball by hands. Let's see if they come back.
