An "above ground pool" that fits in a black bag? That must be the biggest bag ever, one I have never heard of.
Do you mean an above ground pool fits in the black plastic trash bag that is larger than the white kitchen ones? That's the only reason I can think of for naming the bag color. Perhaps the pool you are talking about is actually a tiny child's pool, a small toddler pool one can get at a great discount now and set on the patio. Even that would take an enormous black bag. But that's not really an above ground pool.
The bugs came....so why get mad at the pool?
Throw the pool away? Why not donate it?
I don't think the bug is twice as big as the picture. More like 1/6 of the pictured bug.
Now you'll be tearing up your grass and putting it in large black bags when I tell you where these bugs come from....the soil. They grown in soil; larvae to Japanese beetle can take a year. They hibernate in winter and guess what they eat...grass roots. When they come out they'll eat flower leaves like rose leaves, etc.
They do like to eat leaves and can make roses bushes, etc look bad. There's a whole thing about Japanese beetles...the little bags, the metal posts, how far apart to have them in your yard and from you neighbors' treatments, as well as some natural remedies.
My friend's mom is totally organic but kept a container of gasoline with her to dunk these monsters.
Deodorized kerosene is safer and you can use it and the bugs to start the charcoal grill! Actually, the safest, is to simply put a little dish washing soap (like Dawn) in the water. The bugs lose their ability to swim. We do that with the stink bugs that collect on our screened in porch. We simply hold the cup of soapy water under the bugs and use a small paint brush to knock them off the screen - it works great.

You know what, in thinking about it perhaps the pool is inflatable. A child's little inflatable pool. And the poster deflated it. Still would not call it an above ground pool.
Now the kids have no relief from the heat in their super-fun above ground pool because of your paranoia about harmless beetles. Completely harmless and quite beautiful.
Why did you throw the pool away? The beetles came FOR the water after you filled the pool, they didn't come from the water or from the pool.

I too have to wonder if you are for real. How about I take the $15 piece of junk and mail the scraps to you so that you can donate them to others.
