So nothing leaks at any connection. And it's a straight route from faucet to sprinkler. And water from faucet comes out fine as does water from the hose without the sprinkler, right? And the sprinkler holes look good? I, too, can only think of screens.

Unless there's something about your sprinkler which somehow got set on extra low out flow for a small garden or something. The sprinkler is set on full on?

Used to have a sprinkler that needed the holes reamed out with a tiny drill. Those little holes can be a problem, except that I'd expect a few to go sky high while the rest don't do anything.

Yeah, that's what made me think of the sprinkler...same thing happened to me.

If it is a blockage in the hose, usually whapping it on the ground with the water running through it and without anything on the end of it will loosen whatever it is.

If things are still stuck in the hose, then get a gender bender fitting so you can hook the other end of the hose up to your water source (run the water the other way through the hose) and then with the water on, whap it until it runs clear.
