I'm looking for a fabulous wind chime for near my entrance. I'd like something that sounds wonderful and looks good too. And I'd like a decent sized one (50+ inches?).

Any recommendations?

I saw some wind chimes for sale in Shipshiwana Indiana that are 20' tall. They sounded incredible!. They were tuned to play actual notes and you could hear it all over town. I think it was $2500. Best wind chime I ever saw/heard.

They aren't cheap, but they come even larger than 50 inches and they match the bells of some of the cathedrals around the world. So they look good, sound great, and are definitely fabulous. They have a very good reputation.

Suspended yarn balls.

I can't stand hearing a neighbor's wind chimes clanging all night.

I could not find a picture of the ones from Shipshiwana, must have been sold, or they blew down and crushed a car.

My preference is for big bamboo chimes, the bigger the better. They sound delightfully melodic, peaceful and natural without the irritating loud metallic clanking and sharp ringing of metal chimes.

I like wind harps and Aeolian harps too, they are so surreal:
