No, that's totally different from chelated iron. It would take many many years for scrap iron to eventually break down with very little value to enter a plants root system. Chelated iron for vegetation breaks down immediately and enters the plant system within 72 hours on the average.

Don't feel bad that you didn't get it - sometimes I'm the only one who gets my quirky sense of humor! You wouldn't believe how many times I cracked what I thought was a funny joke, only to be looking at a room full of blank stares!
