Yes, LEDs definitely work, but you need full spectrum light. We use a 45W bank of full spectrum LED grow lights for our indoor herb garden. You'll probably need a 10W full spectrum LED light source for a 10 inch pot.

There are a ton of LED grow light videos on YouTube. Check some of those.

If the OP was looking for lights to grow MJ, unfortunately, there are a ton of videos for that too.

Me...I just bought a bunch of T5s.
When I was searching for grow lights to over winter my citrus, I searched YouTube and lots of them were tailored to growing MJ. You know, high power sodium lights & LEDs.

I ended up buying 4 T5s as I was just trying to keep my citrus alive. Well, they did more than that! They were very happy under the T5 and grew very well.

An interesting side effect. I have those square windows on my garage door. At night, those T5 lights beamed out like in the movie ET . My wife said expect a visit from my local PD, but I said all they need to do just peek into the windows and realize just boring citrus plants
