Garbage to Garden is a local business right near me in Maine and great to see it highlighted. Thank you! My next door neighbor uses them, but I have my own "earth machines" and do my own composting. Our town subsidized selling them for $25.00 each. I have a small stainless steel bucket (bed, bath and beyond) with a carbon filter on my countertop and all my coffee filters, egg shells, veggie and fruit waste goes in and then when filled out to the big tubs. In the winter I don't lock the tops of the earth machine because of freezing, ice etc. Raccoons have only raided it about 2-3 times in the past 7 years.

My favorite composting bins were the Bio-Stacks made by Smith & Hawkins. Best design ever. It's a shame that when Target bought out S & H they did not continue to have them manufactured.

When I moved cross country to a large rural place I figured I do much larger straw bale "bins" and so I gave away my biostacks to a CA neighbor. What a mistake that was.
