Dogwood and multihead daffs. Skimmia are winding down.

My yellowtwig dogwood is throwing new leaves and is very pretty, even though not in bloom.

My trumpet daffs have been blooming for about two weeks, and still look beautiful. Candytuft is still in full bloom, and will remain for weeks more.

Nothing yet. My daffodils and tulips are starting to emerge a few inches from the ground.

While trimming, fertilizing and watering this morning I did a double take. My vanilla orchid climbing up our live oak has flower spikes! I am ridiculously excited!!

Roses are blooming, also gerberas, Veronica, calla lilies, really, too much to mention. I scored two nice plants off the clearance rack today. A huge purple calla Lilly for $9. and a sweet little pink saxifrage, for $3.

I’m going to try basil and tarragon in the house.

I’m in South Carolina and EVERYTHING in my yard is blooming — Lenten roses, Camilla’s, azaleas, dogwoods, monkey grass, trees. The daffodils are finished.

Our yard was extremely overgrown when we bought the house and we spent last year clearing out dead bushes, vines, overgrown ivy.

This year everything is emerging and it’s very exciting!
