Bellflowers of lavender and white, tall and short. Also golden coreopsis and brightly colored yarrow. It's just starting here in CT.
Cambium, I think that bush that's on the beach in Milford may be Rosa Rugosa, beach rose. Can't see it well enough but that's what usually is planted along the beaches.
Here, the first blast of flowers is over. All the daylilies are over, but they’re repeat bloomers, so they’ll be blooming again throughout the summer. Roses are blooming. We had a hot dry spell that really stressed everything. Now, it won’t stop raining. Once the weather equalizes, it will be interesting to see what’s what.
I’m fixin to replace a dying rhododendron with a viburnum that blooms all summer, since the 2 snowball viburnums i have are doing so well.
Bradford Pear? They are horrid trees. Pretty while young, but after 20 years or so, the limbs start breaking off. In our case, we had to pay $1000 to have 2 removed from the back yard after the limbs had fallen on the neighbors fence. The wood is so hard that it makes DIY removal almost impossible.

Definitely not Bradford Pear and I agree, they aren't great trees. My neighbor had one split during a wind storm and I had to help cut and clean it up.
Took this one today. I need one with my regular camera.
There are a lot of them around here. This one smaller.
They are all over Long Island too. I think it is a Cornus kousa. Now, to be specific, that was what I was told when I asked, but that info may only be as accurate as the person who told me. Also known as a Japanese Dogwood.

I think so too. I think it’s Chinese dogwood, not Japanese.

Yup, I asked a neighbor today and they said it was _______ dogwood. I didn't think it was a dogwood. Interesting. I forgot the name she used but she did say it was Japanese. Thanks guys!
