Has anyone had any success with a spray chemical control for White Pine Weevil. I need something available for homeowners. Thanks..

You can remove infested tops of trees and spray chemicals directly on treetop in spring or use a systemic pesticide that is mixed in soil in fall.

The two are differing chemicals so decide which you want to do...the spray for treetops contain pyrethrins....just google treatment with pesticides for brand names to choose from...

don't remember chemical for systemic treatment but it should be easy to find online.

Thanks greatblueheron.

Been cutting them off for several years. Trees are planted in ground cover so going to give pyrethrins a try this season.

Pyrethrins are organic, but they also aren't very long-lasting. This usually means you have to treat more often.

The article mentions chemicals that are effective, at least for the Colorado extension area.
