You can remove infested tops of trees and spray chemicals directly on treetop in spring or use a systemic pesticide that is mixed in soil in fall.
The two are differing chemicals so decide which you want to do...the spray for treetops contain pyrethrins....just google treatment with pesticides for brand names to choose from...
don't remember chemical for systemic treatment but it should be easy to find online.
Pyrethrins are organic, but they also aren't very long-lasting. This usually means you have to treat more often.
